first time in 1937, and proved outstandingly successful. By 1938, twenty
had been delivered with many more on order. Despite its commercial
intention, this aircraft saw most of its action in the U.S. Navy and U.S.
Coast Guard. Models fitted with anti-icing were used by the Coast Guard in
chilly Northern waters. |
